Enter the postcode SY6 6JG into your sat nav, which will take you to the general area of Carding Mill Valley. The car park that has the easiest access to the reservoir lies near the Long Mynd Bur Way viewpoint (SY6 6PP) on Bur Way.
From here, the reservoir is a short walk up the hill following a stream.
By public transport
The nearest train station to Carding Mill Valley is Church Stretton, which is about a mile away. Church Stretton is on the Welsh Marches Line and is south of Shrewsbury.
From Church Stretton, Carding Mill Valley is walkable (about 45 minutes) along Bur Way, which offers beautiful views of the surrounding Shropshire Hills as you head towards the reservoir.
