Warwick is a beautiful town located on the banks of the River Avon, the Warwickshire iteration of the Avon that runs through Leamington Spa before winding south to Stratford-upon-Avon and ending in Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire.

Luckily for wild swimmers, Warwick offers plenty of swimming opportunities without having to venture too far out of the town, making it incredibly convenient to take a dip. This comes in the form of the section of the River Avon that weaves through St. Nicholas’ Park, located in the south east of the town.

There are plenty of swimming opportunities on this stretch of the Avon between Royal Leamington Spa and southwards towards Stratford-upon-Avon. The river here is wide and quite deep (so take care) but offers swimmers a true rural feel with a backdrop of the town and the stunning Warwick Castle nearby.
