The Louth Navigation, a former canal route of the River Lud running for 11 miles between Louth and Tetney, is now under the protection of the Louth Navigation Trust who do some great work in ensuring the structure of the canal and all its locks and bridges are kept in tact.
To this day the canal is in varying states of repair, though water remains throughout the route and there are some spots along the way where you can enjoy a swim.
This particular wild swimming spot of the Louth Navigation Canal is located near the Crown and Anchor pub by Tetney Lock and is deep enough to swim in safely.
Just be mindful of any anglers or kayakers!
