Situated right on the border with England in Monmouthshire and around 14 miles from Abergavenny, Skenfirth Castle, a National Trust site, is a great day out in its own right.
It’s also located right on the banks of the River Monnow, and is a popular spot for picnics and swimming. The river here is a fantastic spot for swimming as you enjoy the ruins of the castle in the background.
