Welton Waters Adventure Centre is a multi-purpose water activity centre located on the northern banks of the River Humber.

While not a natural wild swimming location, the centre offers swimmers the opportunity to partake in open water swimming all year round. Whether you’re looking for a more natural swimming experience, are training for a triathlon, or for a nice day out with some friends, the centre is well equipped with some great facilities.

Along with open water swimming, visitors to Welton Waters can also get involved in sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, rowing, and even indoor adventure activities such as archery and bushcraft.

How to Get to Welton Waters

By car

Enter the postcode HU15 1PT into your sat nav, which will take you to the exact location of the adventure centre where you can park up with ease.

The centre is located just off the A63 in between the settlements of Brough and North Ferriby on the banks of the River Humber.

By public transport

The nearest train station is Brough, which is about a mile or so away from the adventure centre. You can choose to walk from here though it may be worth considering a taxi.

If you’re coming from an easterly direction (perhaps from Hull), Ferriby Train Station is also about a mile away.

By bike

There are some great cycle routes along the banks of the River Humber where you’ll be surrounded by nature reserves and great views of the river.

One popular route, which goes through Barton-upon-Humber, takes you across the famous Humber Bridge and along the banks of the river to North Ferriby which is nearby the centre.

Explore the various nature reserves and riverbanks along the Humber, with adjacent North Ferriby offering some great walks and beauty spots. Head further east and you’ll eventually get to Hull, which has plenty of history and culture to indulge in.
